She is a HCPC and CSP registered physiotherapist currently working within the NHS, where I provide mostly inpatient physiotherapy for patients needing acute hospital care. I work with these patients to improve their quality of life, increase their mobility through strengthening and balance work as well as equipment if needed. I also have a background of working in elective orthopaedics for patients who have had total hip or knee replacements, as well as ankle and foot surgeries.
She is joining the Longfield Polyclinic to extend my scope of practice further through the use of sports massage therapy. I am passionate about providing the best possible service for clients whether this be to help with tight muscles, reduce pain or help with flexibility. Sports massage is helpful for clients who are particularly athletic and who take part in sports regularly or anyone who feels they would benefit from some support with tight muscles or pain.
Sports massage therapy is not something offered within the NHS generally and I am keen to provide support and help clients in a more holistic way through the use of massage and advice with regards to stretching and strengthening to help prevent tight muscles and pain where possible.
She has a Bachelor of Science Degree with honours in Physiotherapy from the University of East Anglia, as well as an iTEC Level 3 Extended diploma in Sports Massage. My professional background within the NHS includes work on general medical and frailty wards, as well as working within trauma and elective orthopaedic settings, where I have also provided post operative classes to help with strength, balance and improving confidence.
