Luisa Saunders
Counsellor
Would you like to address issues affecting you and do you seek a place for understanding how you can support your own development and change? Would you like this for your child? Luisa welcomes anyone that needs counselling and works with children (age 6+), Young People and adults.
Luisa holds dual qualifications as both a teacher (PGCE) and therapist (PGDip). She brings 20+ years of direct experience working with children, young people and adults across education and psychotherapeutic counselling. Safeguarding and inclusion have been central to her professional work throughout this period.
Her professional background includes NHS counselling roles offering short-term therapy in 6 or 12-week blocks, Further Education sector experience providing both brief and extended interventions, and current work as a Children and Young Persons therapist with the charity Mind contracted to Further Education Colleges. She maintains professional development through regular continuing professional development training and presents findings at audits conducted by the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
Luisa offers face to face, online and telephone integrative individual therapy. Luisa provides a safe, confidential, non-judgmental space to explore those issues that you would like to address respecting the privacy of those issues that you do not wish to bring into therapy.
Following initial assessment and contracting a space is offered for you to talk through the reasons that bring you to the therapy room. Honesty and openness at this stage (if you are able to) is conducive to better outcomes particularly on short term therapy.
