Acupuncture is insertion of very fine needles into specific points in the body to illicit a therapeutic response.  Originating in China thousands of years ago an acupuncturist trained in Chinese Medicine will often combine needle insertion with Tui Na Or Shiatsu (types of oriental massage), moxibustion (heating of needles) and/or lifestyle/dietary advise according to individual diagnosis.

Acupuncture treats the whole individual so it is common for people to attend the clinic with conditions as diverse as anxiety and stress, gastrointestinal issues, drug addiction, fertility and gynaecological  problems (including issues during pregnancy and labour), headache/migraine, musculoskeletal problems, pain management and sports injuries.  However, others choose to use acupuncture to strengthen their constitution or because they feel generally unwell.  Acupuncture is considered suitable for all ages and can be used alongside conventional medicine.

At the centre we have four fully qualified therapists offering Traditional Chinese Acupuncture, Five Element Acupuncture, Auricular Acupuncture and other related techniques.  All are registered with and members of The British Acupuncture Council, the leading British regulatory body for acupuncture which ensures that all its members have the first degree level training in traditional acupuncture and comply to strict Safe Practice standards.

Current prices for the Initial assessment, including treatment is £40, all subsequent follow ups are £35.
